The Ram Inn, Cliviger

Just had a super Sunday lunch at the Ram. I had the sirloin beef option which was excellent. 2 large, thick slices of perfectly cooked beef and good choice of vegetables, cooked well. Really excellent meal. My partner has mushroom and truffle soup and belly pork which he said were also excellent. Service and staff were great, friendly and efficient. Thank you for a great, reasonable priced meal.

Absolutely gorgeous Tuesday evening meal. My husband had beautifully cooked lamb steak with delicious cauliflower cheese. I had chicken, with garlic mash and oyster mushrooms with al dente seasonal vegetables. Real fires, perfect service. Beautiful place can't wait to go again.

Updating my review. The lad working behind the bar was great, really professional and well mannered. The food was very nice indeed too. However we got there at shortly after opening time and the tables were quite dirty from previous night with sticky drinks stains and food remnants, that's not great at opening time when you expect everything to be at its cleanest. Also the menus were dog eared and covered in food and would benefit from being laminated. I'd have given 5 stars but my beef was really, really tough. Took a lot of chewing, however, it was flavoursome and the sauce, mushrooms and veg and mash were lovely. The Po' boy dish was gorgeous. The staff were great. The pub is beautiful, so pretty and very old. Lovely atmosphere. The views and surroundings are amazing. Drinks slightly pricey but we enjoyed them anyway! Definitely will go again.

We visited the ram in cliviger today for my husbands birthday. The guys are running a fantastic place, with super friendly staff. We had a three course meal with drinks. Ive have to say the food was the best I have had for a long time, the chef is to be commended. Would recommend highly, we live out of town, but will return as regular as we can.

Arrived with no reservation but managed to find us a table. Roaring fires. Sunday lunch menu. Welcomed, taken to table. Cheese and onion pie gorgeous. My mash on the cool side... shame as otherwise a good experience. Black Sheep beer enjoyed. Good machine lets you add tip. Dogs in pub.

We saw this place unexpectedly and it was a pleasant surprise. The staff were really friendly. It’s a lovely old pub with lots of character. We ordered the fish and chips and a beef burger. It was ok but a little on the expensive side for what you get. Nice pint of Guinness though! We will return when passing again to sample more of the menu

Great food, friendly service. We walked in on a Friday lunch but was advised to book. We had steak n chips, pork tenderloin and ham sandwich (more like gammon!). The little one had sausage and mash. Everyone loved their food, really good pub, would recommend and hopefully we’ll be back!
